Ways to Minimise Fees and Charges |
|
→ Consolidate your accounts. If you have multiple banking needs (loans, investments, transaction savings accounts) consider holding them all with Warwick Credit Union to offset membership account fees. Using this and other exemptions, over 60% of Warwick Credit Union members pay no membership account fees.
→ Ask your branch if you qualify for an exemption. You will automatically pay no membership accounts fees if you are: - Under 18 years of age (or need an account for an individual under 18) - Over 65 years of age - A full time student - A non profit organisation
→ Check that you have the right membership account structure. By consolidating your accounts under a single membership you can have up to nine accounts without paying a single cent in extra membership fees (if you pay any in the first place).
→ Reconsider the way you're using your account. Some options for low or no cost transacting are: - Using only red branded "reditATMs' you can make up to ten withdrawals per month at no cost. - Press "Credit" at eftpos when using Visa Debit. This will make the transaction fully fee free. - Use online and phone banking to check your balance, transfer money and pay bills. - Use BPay to pay bills at no cost.
→ Avoid overdrawing your account by: - Checking your balance regularly using telephone or internet banking. - Keeping track of cheques and eftpos payments that may not have been processed to your account. - Scheduling regular payments for the day after your pay/pension is credited to your account. - Stopping or rescheduling payments if you know you will have insufficient funds.
